Dickensian

25th November 2016
Category : Local Events

The Dickensian Evening includes the switching on of the Christmas lights, and an opportunity for people to start their Christmas shop and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Be transported back to the ‘olde world’ with shop owners and their staff embracing the traditional dress, stalls selling roasted chestnuts and even steam engines adding to the atmosphere. The Pannier Market also stays open late for this event, with traders also adding to the atmosphere of the evening by dressing in appropriate attire.

Dickensian Evening is organised by Tavistock Business Improvement District (BID), supported by town centre businesses and local charities and organisations. Tavistock Town Council works closely with the BID to provide Christmas lights, with more areas of the town being lit up than ever before.

The lights switch on will be at 6pm in Bedford Square.

The town centre car parks will be free from 4pm.  There will be a Park and Ride service running from Morrisons car park from 5pm to 9 pm.
