Minutes of a Meeting of the PLANS COMMITTEE of Tavistock Town Council held in the Council Chamber, Drake Road, Tavistock on TUESDAY the 29TH APRIL, 2008 at 6.00pm

Apologies for absence were received from Cllr. Mrs J. Ramsey and Cllr. D. Whitcomb.
694. MINUTES
The Minutes of the Meeting of the Committee held on Tuesday 18th March 2008 were noted and signed as a true record .
695. MATTERS ARISING
None
696. DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK
The Notice of Dartmoor National Park Forum meeting had erroneously been entered onto the Plans agenda. This notice to be passed to Cllr. P. Sanders as the Town Council’s representative on this body.
697. ON-STREET PARKING ISSUES - WITH REFERENCE TO SITES OF NEW BUILD
It was agreed that a watching brief might be necessary when work commenced at the site of West End House, West Street, Tavistock.
698. GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE
a) WDBC Planning Department – e-mail and specimen of new comments form with bar-code – request that TTC adopt these on a trial basis. The Committee supported this innovation.
b) Re: P/A 11026/2007/TAV – The Poplars, Westbridge Industrial Estate, Notice of Appeal – Mr M Bassett - Noted.
c) WDBC Notice of Planning & Licensing Committee meeting on Tuesday 29th April 2008- Noted.
d) Re: P/A No.11456/2008/Tav – Change of use of glass house into tea rooms at Mount Tavy Cottage, Mount Tavy Road, Tavistock. Planning application has been withdrawn –Noted.
e) Letter from W.D.B.C. for naming of development at the old hockey pitch, Grenville Drive, Tavistock. Suggested name is Woburn Walk. The Committee noted that they had considered this at their last meeting and their decision to suggest the name of Dathan was unchanged.
This was as a result of the Council’s policy of naming new builds after Honoured Burgesses of Tavistock.
699. URGENT BUSINESS BROUGHT FORWARD AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CHAIRMAN
The Chairman referred to correspondence he had had with a resident reference P/A No. 11579/2008/Tav, relating to an extension to 10 Watts Road, Tavistock. The Committee noted The Chairman’s comments.
