Minutes of a Meeting of the PLANS COMMITTEE of Tavistock Town Council held in the Council Chamber, Drake Road, Tavistock on TUESDAY the 15TH APRIL, 2008 at 6.00pm

The meeting was preceded at 5.30 p.m. with a presentation by Mr Matt Wallbridge and Mr Tony Cook representing Sainsbury’s, who gave members an update on the detail of the Planning Application since the last one, addressed issues on Devon banks and trees and answered members’ questions.  This was additionally attended by a member of Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.

The Minutes of the Meeting of the Committee held on Tuesday 18th March 2008 were noted – to be signed after the next meeting of the full Council.

674. DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK
a) Letter re Core Strategy Development Plan Document – Adopted Version: to be adopted on Monday 9th June 2008 – Noted.

675. ON-STREET PARKING ISSUES - WITH REFERENCE TO SITES OF NEW BUILD
After some discussion about the congestion caused by parking relating to the building works on Brook Street, it was AGREED to follow up the letter sent after the last meeting with a letter from the Town Clerk to the appropriate bodies to find out the progress on addressing parking issues.  The Parking Focus Group should also be contacted.

a) Re P/A 11496/2008/TAV – Land to rear of 11 Ford Street, Tavistock, Devon PL19 8DZ.  Notice of site meeting to be held on Thursday 10th April 2008 at 10.00 a.m. – Cllr D Best (Chairman) attended.
b) Re: P/A 11575/2008/TAV – Copy Letter of Objection from Julia Monk – Letter of acknowledgment to be sent showing the Town Council’s comments.
c) Re: P/A 11684/2008/TAV – Copy Letter of Objection from Mr & Mrs Goodfield – This Application (Sainsbury’s) was considered at this meeting: a letter of acknowledgment to be sent with the Town Council’s comments.
d) Letter from Dr Howard Stoate MP re Cross Party Inquiry into Childhood Leukaemia and power lines – This was noted and RECOMMENDED to be put on the agenda for the next Full Council meeting.
