Minutes of a Meeting of the PLANS COMMITTEE of Tavistock Town Council held in the Council Chamber, Drake Road, Tavistock on TUESDAY the 18th DECEMBER, 2007 at 6.00pm

Apologies for absence were received from Cllr. M. Harper.

432. MINUTES
Minutes of the Meetings of the Committee held on the 4 December 2007 to be confirmed after circulation.

433. MATTERS ARISING
There were no matters arising.

434. DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK
There were no such matters.

435. ON-STREET PARKING ISSUES - WITH REFERENCE TO SITES OF NEW BUILD
There was nothing further to report at this time on this issue. However, Cllr. Pike reported that the news seemed to support that there was a national problem for developers trying to sell on town centre flats.

436. W. D. LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK 'SITE ALLOCATIONS, ISSUES AND OPTIONS'
The Council had requested that the Plans Committee make a further scrutiny of the options. The relevant documents had been tabled at the last meeting and the Chairman proposed a task and finish group made up of members from each ward. It as agreed that Cllr. Jennings would 'double up' representing the south west ward as well as the south ward with Cllr. Mrs. Metcalf. Cllr Best and Cllr. Mrs. Ramsay would undertake the north ward. Members would consult with residents to ascertain their views, using the W.D. Local Development Framework 'Site Allocations, Issues and Options' document.

437.   GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE
a) Ref: P/A 10027/2007/Tav for erection of a side extension at 20 Chollacott Close,Tavistock - Hearing of appeal to be at West Devon Borough Council's offices at 10 a.m. on 26 February 2008 - NOTED.
b) Ref: P/A 10284/2007/Tav for erection of a two storey side extension at 83 Westmoor Park, Tavistock - The appeal to be decided by written representations, with any further representations to be made by 2 January 2008 - NOTED.
c) Ref: P/A No. 10926/2007/Tav - Application to extend the living accommodation of unit 12 and change design of guard rails to roof garden areas at land adjacent to Ordulph Arms, Pym Street, Tavistock has been withdrawn - NOTED.

438.  URGENT BUSINESS BROUGHT FORWARD AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CHAIRMAN
a) Reference the naming of the new development at 64 Plymouth Road. The meeting was reminded that it had objected to the developer's proposal of  Drakes Meadow as they considered that both words were already prolifically in use in the town and the alternative of Perry Court had been suggested. Cllr. Best would be at the meeting in Meldon Village Hall on 22 January 2007 when this would be considered at the West Devon Environment and Community Committee meeting. He said that if any other Plans Committee member wished to attend he could offer transport.
b) Cllr. Mrs. Johnson asked that the Deputy Town Clerk check the advertising consent given to the developers for Daleswood Road. She had understood that the board could be displayed until the development was completed, which it now was.
