Minutes of a Meeting of the PLANS COMMITTEE of Tavistock Town Council held in the Council Chamber, Drake Road, Tavistock on TUESDAY the 22nd JANUARY, 2008 at 6.00pm

There were no apologies for absence.

484. MINUTES
Minutes of the Meetings of the Committee held on the 8 January 2008 to be signed after circulation.

There were no matters arising.

There were no such matters.

487. ON-STREET PARKING ISSUES - WITH REFERENCE TO SITES OF NEW BUILD
 There was nothing further to report at this time.

488. GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE
a) Ref: P/A No. 11260/2007/Tav for 29 dwellings at Parcel A, Manor Estate, Old Launceston Road, Tavistock - Letter of objection was NOTED.
b) Ref: Devon County Minerals Core Strategy - A letter of acknowledgement for responses to this document, made by Cllr. Pike on behalf of this Committee, had been received. The Chairman thanked Cllr. Pike for his work on this document.

489. URGENT BUSINESS BROUGHT FORWARD AT THE DISCRETION         OF THE CHAIRMAN
a) Ref: West Devon Local Development Framework -'Site Allocations, Issues and Options'.
The Chairman reminded the Committee that the task and finish group consisted of Cllr. Jennings for the south west ward as well as assisting Cllr. Mrs. Metcalf in the south ward. Cllr Best and Cllr. Mrs. Ramsay would undertake the north ward. We were now advised that West Devon's further consultation dates for the public in Tavistock are 14 February in the Town Hall and 1 March in the Church Hall. Cllr. Mrs. Ramsay questioned her inclusion in this task and finish group,saying that she had no recall of this and that she wished her name to be withdrawn. The Deputy Town Clerk reminded members of the background to this and that all committee members had received the necessary papers in December, when this had been agreed, with Cllr. Mrs. Ramsay being present. The Deputy Town Clerk would circulate committee members with copies of the relevant minutes. After further discussion it was agreed that Cllrs. Harper and Whitcomb, with any other Councillors able to attend, would meet in early February to discuss the document further.
b) Jane Hart, Head of Planning at W.D.B.C., was available to attend a Plans Meeting on either Tuesday 19 February or Tuesday 19 March. Members agreed to the February date and would have their questions ready to bring to that meeting.
c) Reference the naming of the new development at 64 Plymouth Road. The developer's proposal of Drakes Meadow had been agreed at the West Devon Environment and Community Committee meeting irrespective of the Plans Committee's comment that both words were already prolifically in use in the town and the alternative of Perry Court suggested.

iii) Cllr. Whitcomb left the meeting during consideration of P/A No.11356/2008/Tav
