Minutes of a Meeting of the PLANS COMMITTEE of Tavistock Town Council held in the Council Chamber, Drake Road, Tavistock on TUESDAY the 28th AUGUST, 2007 at 6.00pm

In Attendance:  Deputy Town Clerk 

In the absence of the Chairman, the Mayor, Cllr. Mrs. Johnson, took the Chair. The Mayor welcomed the members of the public and invited them to put any questions they had to the committee. There were no such questions put.  

169. APOLOGIES 
Apologies for absence were received from Cllr. D. Best and Cllr. Mrs J. Ramsey.

170. MINUTES
The Minutes of the Meetings of the Committee held on the 31 July 2007 and 14 August 2007 to be signed after circulation.

171. MATTERS ARISING
WDBC Core Strategy (The Preferred Option). Final comments to be agreed at an extra meeting to be held at 5.45 p.m. on Wednesday 5 September, for forwarding to W.D.B.C. on Thursday 6 September 2007.

172. DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK P/A No. 0626/07 - for access track and extension to stables at land adjacent to Harford Bridge, Tavistock - deferred from the last meeting. To be decided under chairman's delegated powers.

173. ON-STREET PARKING ISSUES - WITH REFERENCE TO SITES OF NEW BUILD
No further comments at this time.

* Will cause the closure of the Pannier Market.
* Residents should be given a choice of shopping opportunities.
Traffic
* Health & Safety issue with three petrol stations in close proximity on a main road.
*Over saturation of A386 and potential traffic congestion.
* Three roundabouts in a very short space.
Environment
* Loss of trees and screening and 'green' approach to town.
* Flood threat at Tiddy Brook and flood plain.
