736. APOLOGIES
There were no apologies for absence.
737. MINUTES
The Minutes of the Meeting of the Committee held on Tuesday 29th April 2008 were noted and signed as a true record.
738. MATTERS ARISING
a) P/A No. 11705/2008/Tav - for erection of a picket pence at 29 Canons Way, Tavistock was erroneously recorded as P/A No.11640/20008/Tav on Appendix B for Plans Meeting 29 April 2008.
b) P/A No. 11570/2008/Tav – Proposed development at Lower Brook, Brook Lane, Tavistock. At a recent site meeting Cllr. Harper reported his concerns over the width of approach roads and said that the amendments to the original application reflected no real advantage.
739. DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK
There were no such matters.
740. ON-STREET PARKING ISSUES - WITH REFERENCE TO SITES OF NEW BUILD
The Mayor had received an Email from Cllr. Connolly D.C.C., which was tabled for the attention of the Committee. It concerned the reserving of two parking spaces in Bank Square car park in relation to the development of 22 Market Street and 28 King Street. The loss of the parking spaces would be for approximately six months and the developers would pay W.D.B.C. for such a licence. It was agreed that we write to Mrs. Auberton, W.D.B.C.to suggest that a meeting of the Traffic and Parking Focus Group be called so that this be matter could be discussed.
741. GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE
a) Ref: P/A No. 11575/2008/Tav – Erection of a dwelling at land adjacent to Bourne, Down Road, Tavistock –Application has been withdrawn. NOTED.
b) Ref: P/A No. 11684/2008/Tav – For erection of a supermarket at Plymouth Road, Tavistock. Letter of objection was tabled and NOTED.
c)Notice from W.D.B.C. for granting of a Tree Preservation Order in respect of a Horse Chestnut at land at Marshall Road, Tavistock. NOTED.
d)‘Childhood Leukaemia and Overhead Power Lines’- further information received as previously requested by this committee. Members would read and pass to other members for information.
742. URGENT BUSINESS BROUGHT FORWARD AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CHAIRMAN
A letter for Lidl UK Supermarkets was noted and discussed. As the company was making an approach to address Council, the Committee decided to await Council’s decision.
743. PLANNING APPLICATIONS

It was agreed that a letter be sent to Ms Jane Hart, Head of Planning, W.D.B.C. requesting that it be noted on their ‘Advice of Decision’ forms for planning application whether the decision had been made by the Plans Committee or had been delegated to a Planning Officer.b. New Applications
