Minutes of a Meeting of the PLANS COMMITTEE of Tavistock Town Council held in the Council Chamber, Drake Road, Tavistock on TUESDAY the 30th SEPTEMBER, 2008 at 6.00pm

276. APOLOGIES
Apologies for absence were received from Cllr. M. Harper, Cllr. R. Pike and Cllr. Mrs. J. Ramsey.
277. MINUTES
The Minutes of the Meetings of the Committee held on the 16 September to be signed after circulation.
278. MATTERS ARISING
Ref. Minute 257 – Reference Cllr. Harper’s report of builders’ vehicles obstructing the entrance to Heritage Heights at Manor Grove, we have been advised by D.C.C. Highways that with the works to the nearby play park nearing completion, the problem should be solved.
279. DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK
There were no such matters.
280. ON-STREET PARKING ISSUES - WITH REFERENCE TO SITES OF NEW BUILD
Cllr. Whitcomb referred to the new development of flats in Plymouth Road and that builders’ vehicles, including lorries, were being directed by the site operators to park at Fitzford Cottages. He had received complaints from residents about the obstruction and difficulties that this caused. It was agreed that a letter be sent to W.D.B.C. concerning this.
281. GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE
a) West Devon Local Development Framework Core Strategy – Preferred Development Options for Okehampton and Tavistock (2006-2026). A copy had been sent to all councillors with the Plans Agenda and it was agreed that due to the importance of this issue, this should be deferred to the meeting of Council on Monday 6 October.
b) Cllr. Best reported that he had attended the following site meetings on Thursday 25 September 2008
i) P/A No 11917/2008/Tav - 41 Bannawell Atreet, Tavistock
ii) P/A No. 12135/2008/Tav – 97, Westmoor Park, Tavistock
c) Ref: P/A No. 11684/2008/Tav for Sainsbury’s Supermarket at Brook Farm, Brook Lane, Tavistock – extra information regarding the application had been received. It was agreed to lodge the papers in the Chamber to be available for anyone to read.
d) The following applications had been withdrawn and were noted.
i) P/A No. 12102/2008/Tav – Erection of 2 dormer windows at 32, Glanville Road,Tavistock. ii) P/A No. 12104/2008/Tav – Extension of garage to provide workshop and utility at 19, Newtake Road, Whitchurch, Tavistock.
e) A consultation document by D.C.C. on ‘Refreshing the Vision and Objectives’ for the Minerals Core Strategy had been received. It was agreed to request Cllr. Pike to review this.
f) A document from the Dartmoor National Park Authority ref: ‘Validation of planning and related applications – proposed checklist and explanatory document’ had been received. The Deputy Town Clerk had read the papers and reported that she considered the guidance and information they contained to be exemplary. It was agreed that a reply be sent to convey this.
