353. MATTERS ARISING
354. MINUTES OF THE WHITCHURCH DOWN SUB-COMMITTEE
Members noted the minutes of the meeting held on 15th October 2008. Concerning Minute 342c and the Golf Club Cllr Trew asked about a bunker on the second green being extended into a footpath, and if the protecting tape was extended beyond the boundary of the bunker the footpath would narrow to an unacceptable width. Cllr Sellis thought this not to be a problem as there was ample space between the bunker and a wall for the footpath. The Works Superintendent would clarify at a future meeting that the width of the path would be maintained as for previous years.
355. WORKS SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
Members noted the report at Annex A. The Mayor thanked the Depot for the new seats at Courtlands play area, much appreciated by parents. The staff were complimented on the traffic management for Goose Fair, which was excellent for the second year of their involvement. Cllr Jenkins briefed Members on an emergency grant made to the Chamber of Commerce by the Borough Council to ensure that the Christmas lights and Dickensian evening went ahead.
356. MARKET REEVE’S REPORT
Members noted without comment the report at Annex B.
357. TOWN HALL MANAGER’S REPORT
Members noted without comment the report at Annex C.
358. URGENT BUSINESS BROUGHT FORWARD AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CHAIRMAN.
The Chairman reminded members of the planned tour of properties, and that the Conservation Officer would wish to accompany the tour. The tour would be arranged for a weekday, 11.00 am to 2.00 pm. The date would be publicised soon.
