Funding Secured for Rediscovering Tavistock Abbey Project

Tavistock Town Council has welcomed confirmation that the Rediscovering Tavistock Abbey project will move into delivery following a major grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The project is being led and coordinated by Tavistock Heritage Trust, working in partnership with the Town Council and supported by Historic England. Funding for the project has been secured through a joint effort by Tavistock Town Council and Tavistock Heritage Trust, enabling the programme to now move from planning into delivery.

Work is expected to begin in March and will include archaeological investigations, conservation work and opportunities for local people, schools and volunteers to take part in community digs and research activities focused on Tavistock Abbey.

Tavistock Town Council is pleased to support this important project and recognises the leadership of Tavistock Heritage Trust in driving the initiative forward and coordinating the work.

Residents interested in learning more about the project or getting involved are encouraged to visit the Tavistock Heritage Trust website for further information and updates.
