As part of the Heritage Open Days, Tavistock Museum will be holding an pop up event in Butchers Hall:-

Creative People in Tavistock
Tavistock has been home to many individuals who have made their mark in the creative world. There are artists, authors, poets and musicians, to name but a few. Come and meet some of them.
This exhibition introduces some characters that you may, or may not, have heard of before. People like Mrs Bray, the vicar’s wife, who wrote historical novels. Or the librarian who was using his camera when photography was in its infancy. Local painter Richard Woollcombe was a member of the Tavistock Group of Artists and some of his humorous paintings were turned into a book called The West Country Year. And did you know that a founding member of the Kinks came from Tavistock?

(Tavistock Mobile Museum is a new initiative by Tavistock Museum, designed to reach out to the public in spaces outside of the main museum. Pop into Butchers’ Hall and take a look.)
